New Born Baby Essentials Checklist

Preparing for your little one? Here’s a practical checklist to make sure you’ve got all the essentials for the first few months.

1. Clothing

  • Onesies / bodysuits (5–10)
  • Sleepers / footed pajamas (5–7)
  • Hats and mittens
  • Socks / booties
  • Swaddles / wearable blankets

2. Nappies

  • Newborn Nappies(disposable or cloth)
  • Wipes
  • Diaper cream / rash ointment
  • Changing pad or station
  • Diaper bag for outings

3. Feeding

  • Bottles and nipples (if formula feeding or pumping)
  • Breast pump and storage bags (if breastfeeding)
  • Nursing pads and nipple cream
  • Burp cloths
  • Bibs

4. Sleeping

  • Crib or bassinet
  • Firm mattress and fitted sheets
  • Baby monitor
  • Swaddling blankets
  • Nightlight (optional)

5. Bathing & Hygiene

  • Baby bathtub or bath support
  • Gentle baby soap and shampoo
  • Soft washcloths and towels
  • Baby brush / comb
  • Nail clippers / baby nail file

6. Health & Safety

  • Digital thermometer
  • Infant Calpol (for emergencies, consult your GP or A&E)
  • First aid kit
  • Baby-proofing supplies (plug covers, cabinet locks)

7. Travel & On-the-Go

  • Car seat (rear-facing, installed before the hospital)
  • Stroller / travel system
  • Diaper bag with essentials
  • Baby carrier / sling

8. Optional But Helpful

  • Pacifiers
  • White noise machine
  • Teething toys (for later months)
  • Play mat or activity gym
